1 Check if Your Device Supports eSIM
The following Rakuten models support eSIM:
- Rakuten Mini
- Rakuten Big
- Rakuten Big-S
- Rakuten Hand
- Rakuten Hand 5G
To confirm eSIM support:
- Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile Network
- Look for the "Add Mobile Plan" option or similar.
2 Check if Device is Unlocked
Your phone must be unlocked to accept an eSIM. To verify:
- Go to Settings > About Phone > Status Information
- Check that "SIM Lock Status" shows "Unlocked".
3 Ensure Internet Connection
A stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data) is required during eSIM activation.
4 Remove Conflicts with Other SIMs
Disable or remove any physical or existing eSIMs to avoid activation issues.
5 Install Your eSIM
Using QR Code:
- Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile Network > Add Mobile Plan
- Scan the QR code provided by Jett On
- Tap "Add Plan" to confirm
Manual Entry:
- Go to Add Mobile Plan > Manual Entry
- Enter the SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code (found below the QR code)
6 Set Jett On as Default Data Line
Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile Network, select the eSIM, rename it to "Jett On", and set it as your default data line.
Disable "Allow Mobile Data Switching" to avoid using your primary SIM’s data.
7 Refresh Network Connection
Turn on Airplane Mode for 10 seconds, then turn it off to refresh the network signal.
8 Test Your Internet
Open a browser like Chrome and check if a website loads. If it does, your eSIM is working!
