Sony eSIM Installation Guide

1 Check if Your Device Supports eSIM

Go to Settings > About Phone and check the device model (e.g., Xperia 1 V, Xperia 5 V, Xperia 10 V). Find the EID number under Settings > About Phone > Status or by dialing *#06#. If an EID appears, your device supports eSIM. Note: Some Xperia models sold in the USA do not support eSIM.

2 Ensure Internet Connection

Make sure your device is connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data. A stable internet connection is required for eSIM activation. Avoid public Wi-Fi networks.

3 Remove Conflicts with Other SIMs

Go to Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs and disable or remove other eSIMs or physical SIMs. Sony devices typically allow only one SIM to be active for data at a time.

4 Install Your eSIM

Using QR Code:

  1. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs > Add SIM.
  2. Select "Don’t have a SIM card?" and tap "Next".
  3. Scan the QR code provided by Jett On.
  4. Tap "Continue" and wait for the installation to complete (do not close the screen).

Enter Details Manually:

  1. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs > Add SIM.
  2. Select "Don’t have a SIM card?" and tap "Next".
  3. Tap "Need help?" > "Enter manually".
  4. Enter the SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code (provided in your email or below the QR code).
  5. Tap "Continue" and wait for the installation to complete (may take up to 10 minutes).

5 Set Jett On as Default Data Line

Go to Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs, select the newly added eSIM, rename it to "Jett On", and set it as the default data line.

Disable the physical SIM to prevent it from consuming data.

6 Enable Data Roaming

Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network > Jett On and enable "Data Roaming". This is required for the eSIM to work at your destination. Do not activate the eSIM until you reach your destination to avoid consuming the data package.

7 Refresh Network Connection

Turn on Airplane Mode for 10 seconds, then turn it off. This refreshes the network signal.

8 Test Your Internet

Open Chrome or another browser to check your connection. If the page loads, your eSIM is working!

9 Manual Network Selection (If Needed)

If the device does not connect to a network after enabling data roaming, select a network manually:

  • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network > Jett On.
  • Turn off "Automatically select network".
  • Scan for available networks and choose the one with the best signal.
